Go Old School For Volume & Curl With Hot Rollers
Lately I’ve been using one of my favorite old school hairstying tools to do my hair – my hot rollers. Do you have a set of rollers sitting around? If you do, pull them out, and put them to use. They are a quick way to add volume, wave, and curl to longer hair.

Here are a few tips that I use…..
*Start with freshly clean and dried hair. I use a combo of gel and hair serum before blow drying. If you have thin or very straight hair, go heavier on the gel or use a mousse for more control.
*Start at the top and work your way back. Sometimes I roll straight back from the front, then down from the sides, but I’ve also rolled my bangs forward at a slight slant, then rolled down from the side or middle part. Play around with a rolling pattern, but be sure that you are keeping the ends smooth. Roll straight out from the head or at a slightly off-set angle. Keep the rolling smooth. Smooth, smooth, smooth. That’s the biggest rule with hot roller use.
*Allow curlers to cool completely, then remove. You can go one of two ways after unrolling. Finger-comb the waves, then spray, or you can brush through the waves, flip your hair back and forth a bit, then spray.
ULTA has a few sets of the larger rollers, which is the best way for you to make the hot roller looks current. You can get a 20% discount on any ULTA item when you use the code 44806 at checkout.

This set consists of 12 rollers that have a “velvety-soft surface.” (I use a velvet-type roller myself). There’s an optional steam heat setting.

Jumbo Roller Instant Heat Hair Setter – $33.99
