Hair Tips For Teens
My daughter, Bailey, has naturally curly hair. A lot of it. She wears it long and I give her a razored, layered haircut. The cut helps to cut down on bushiness and makes her hair easier to style and control. She can wear it wild and wavy, but usually she uses a flat iron to smooth it out completely.
Lately she’s been wanting me to help her get some big loopy curls with a 1 inch curling iron (that’s my usual look). Just for fun, I picked her up one of those triple barrel irons the other day. It gives her a completely different look, crimped. She loves it.
I asked her if it was hard to use and she had these tips to share:
*Bailey starts with a serum before she uses her iron. (She uses Frizz-ease brand).
*Try to start as close as you can get to your scalp without getting burned.
*Don’t use the iron on the ends of your hair because it’s hard to control the direction of the curl in that area and you end up with a messy look.
Bailey uses a Conair iron that I got at Walmart for about $13.99, but she’d really like to try this iron from ULTA…..

Hot Tools Gold 3 Barrel Waver Spring Iron
On sale for $29.99, regularly $44.99
This iron is plated with 24K gold. This helps it to heat up faster and have a faster heat recovery during use. It has 10 heat settings, a soft grip handle, patented heat pulse technology, and can be used at extra high heat.

Would love to see pics of the results you get with that triple-barreled iron!
I’ll add one to the post the next time she uses it. She’s been going natural the last few days.
