Summer Hair Trends – Antonio Prieto Salon

I got an email from the Antonio Prieto Salon today. I learned about some of the new trends you are going to be seeing all over this Summer. Long hair, short hair – there’s a little something for every body these days.

The coolest style would have to be the airy pixie with flirty layers and a super-short length. To make the most of your hair texture, apply a light setting lotion and let your hair air-dry. Apply pomade and comb smooth, for an evening look.

Medium length hair also looks most current with a bit of texture. Spritz with a sea salt styling spray, then use a medium size curling iron to add some random waves around the head.

Long hair is updated with braids or buns. A braid along the hairline is a great way to keep your hair out of your eyes when strolling along the shore. This look is best with a two-strand or three-strand braid, about 1-2 inches in width, that run from temple to temple. Or braid the back – especially cute when braided loosely and angled to the side. For best results, the Antonio Prieto Salon suggests applying mousse first.

The ballerina bun is a look that I wear all the time. Start with a high ponytail at the crown of your head. Twist the pony, then wrap the tail around itself, making a sort of donut. Secure with pins, then gently loosen pieces, allowing them to curl and escape. Very pretty. Finish with a light hair spray.
