Valentine’s Day Leads To More Beautiful Skin
According to Dr. David Bank, President of the New York State Society for Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery, Valentine’s Day is good for your complexion.

*Love, whether from a significant other or family and friends, helps to reduce stress. The hormones produced by excess stress lead to muscle tension, break outs, and a tired, worn out appearance. A less stressful life leads to clearer skin and better overall health. If you live alone, you might consider getting a pet. Pets also help to reduce stress and they offer unconditional love, as well.
*Spending time with your loved one between the sheets leads to a release of Endorphins. Endorphins are a hormone that leads to a lowering in stress levels. Women also have an increase in Estrogen, which makes the hair shine and the face glow. Sex is also a good form of exercise. It helps to increase circulation, “…which contributes greatly to a radiant appearance.”
*Massage also helps to improve circulation. It’s relaxing and a good massage oil or lotion helps to moisturize the skin. The action of massage helps to exfoliate the skin. I’m a certified massage therapist and I use a cold-pressed oil with an Almond oil base. Be sure to drink water before and after a massage to better help release toxins.
*Red wine with dinner is a good way of introducing Reservatol into the system. This compound, found naturally in the skin of the red grape, has been shown to “...activate sirtuins in the body. Sirtuins are a natural occurring enzyme in the body that can prolong the life of cells and essentially work to inhibit the effects of aging on the skin.”
Enjoy your Valentine’s Day-induced beauty!
