I recently got a chance to read the latest book release from Better Homes & Gardens: Let’s Start Scrapbooking for Baby.

Since my own new arrival is just a few months old it seemed like the perfect time to read the book and try out some of their suggestions and projects!

The book begins with an overview of basic scrapbooking supplies and tools – great for beginner scrapbookers like me!  The book covers everything from your paper choice to more advanced tools and techniques like hand-cutting motifs to using heat guns or light boxes.

Scrapbooking for Baby gets to the fun stuff with a suggestion of projects and layouts for pregnancy and expecting layouts and pages.  “Welcoming Baby” is all about capturing the special moments from the birth and bringing baby home for the first time.  There are chapters on creating pages for significant milestones and the simple moments that are so special.

Over 200 pages are shown in the book, so there are tons of great ideas, no matter your style preference.  There aren’t exact “recipes” or patterns for creating each layout, but the photos and descriptions are clear and concise enough for you to replicate them if you prefer.  There are even some charming gift ideas for babies as well!

Scrapbooking for Babies would make a great addition to the bookshelf of a new mom or expectant scrapbooker.  The book is definitely great for inspiring new parents to create something special to mark the milestones in their new child’s life.
