Theme Decorating: Roses

I like theme decorating. I know that it is sort of cheesy, and maybe not so sophisticated, but decorating around a theme rocks my world.

My bedroom them is roses. I love roses. I love getting cut roses delivered to me and I love getting rose bushes and planting them. I love paintings of roses, china with roses, and fabric with rose patterns. Get the idea? My bedroom is where I spend a lot of my time. I guess there are a lot of reasons for that. One is that when I am busy it is just easy to reach over and grab my laptop and get to work. My bed is comfortable…. and sometimes the kids forget I am up here, allowing me to get even more work done.

My walls are sponge painted cream, ivory, and a buttery yellow. The pattern is enough to give visual interest while still allowing for a plain backdrop for the real stars of the show… the roses. Everything is not exactly the way I want it, yet. I have to get curtains made and a few other things done but as you can see roses predominate.

At this point I pick up rose themed items as I see them in antique shops. I want a rose throw rug, as well as some antique prints. Roses are beautiful and meaningful to me, and I enjoy looking at them every day.

Want to be inspired by roses? Check out these blog posts and images. Just a couple of “rosey ” ideas that I loved.
