The toys we buy, the food we feed, and the medications we give our beloved pets are meant to make our lives fuller and richer, not cause injury or death. Every so often, we hear of sad stories where something went wrong with pet products and then there are calls for better policing for pet health and safety.

The FDA has answered this call by launching a new pet health and safety widget:

birdThe widget, a portable application embedded in a Web page that can be copied onto any other Web site or blog, will include topics such as how to report a problem with your pet food, purchasing pet drugs online, and caring for your pet in a disaster. The widget allows users to access content on the FDA’s Web site without having to leave another site or Web page.

The widget looks like this and you can put it on your website, your landing page or somewhere in your blog:

You can read about the widget and get the code for your own use at the FDA site. What do you think? Will this be helpful?
