The book, Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg and then the movie made famous the idea of riding a train to see Santa at the North Pole.

Various trains around the country have established fun rides at this time of year, calling them Polar Express or a related name.

In our area, we have the Ho-Bo Santa Express, in Lincoln, NH.  Families can ride this train through snow covered White Mountains and experience an enjoyable hour and twenty minutes with Santa.

My granddaughter and grandson volunteer as elves or helpers to guide the passengers from the parking area to the train.  On a cold winter afternoon, they became Santa’s helpers.

Other trains throughout the country enable families to enjoy this experience, too.
